Short-Term Mobility / Blended Mobility

Short-Term Erasmus+ Mobilities are intensive international experiences designed for students who are unable to participate in traditional academic mobilities lasting at least 2–3 months. These mobilities combine a short physical period at a foreign university with a mandatory virtual component.

They are ideal for students with a heavy schedule, those who work, have family responsibilities, or face financial difficulties in traveling for full semesters.

What does a short-term mobility involve?

Short-term mobilities include a physical mobility period of 5 to 30 days at an Erasmus+ partner university or institution, combined with a virtual component consisting of online sessions held before, during, or after the physical mobility (with at least one collaborative activity). These mobilities are open to students at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.

For doctoral students, Erasmus+ also offers options ranging from 5 to 30 days or up to 12 months, depending on the research activity. For them, the online component is not mandatory.

Testimonials

“Being selected for the Erasmus+ BIP Living on the Coast: Challenges of the Housing Sector in Dynamic Societies was an unforgettable experience for us. The online preparation provided us with the necessary foundational knowledge, and the week spent in Valencia turned that knowledge into action. We worked in interdisciplinary and international teams, analyzed the housing crisis in coastal cities, and proposed solutions that combine sustainability, community needs, and economic realities. Presenting our projects in front of mentors and local community representatives gave us confidence and a sense of purpose. This BIP provided us with more than just 3 ECTS — it gave us perspective, courage, and a network of friends from all over Europe!”

Our message to future UTCB students: Apply! These mobilities open doors you didn’t even know existed.

“Erasmus+ BIP Technical Communication for All in Porto showed us how important it is not only what we build but also how we explain what we build. We learned how to make technical information accessible, worked in international teams, and lived an experience that opened new horizons for us.”

“I learned how ideas can become initiatives with impact in the community, how to transform creativity into real social solutions, and how international collaboration opens up new horizons. The practical workshops, interactive sessions, and working in multicultural teams developed our leadership, communication, and innovative thinking skills.

The open atmosphere, the inspiration provided by passionate people, and the place itself — an oasis of peace, creativity, and reflection — made this BIP more than just a training program: it was a personal and professional transformation.”
